Our Privacy Commitment

JJ's World is built for kids. We collect only the absolute minimum information required to run your account. We do not sell data, we do not run ads, and we do not share your information with third parties except as required by law. This Policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of JJ's World at jjsworld.ca, including children, teenagers, and adults. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian should read this Policy before you create an account.

JJ's World is operated from Canada and is subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. Users from the United States are also covered by our compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) where applicable.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate your account and keep the platform safe:

We Never Collect or Allow the Following

Real full names · Home or school addresses · Phone numbers · Email addresses in gameplay or chat · Social media handles or usernames from other platforms · Photos or videos · Voice recordings · Precise location data · Device identifiers for advertising purposes

Our chat filter is designed to detect and block any attempt to share the above information through in-game messaging, world names, or usernames. Messages containing this type of information are blocked before they reach other players.

4. How We Use Information

To operate, maintain, and improve the JJ's World platform.
To authenticate your account and keep it secure.
To save your game progress, coins, items, and worlds.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, cheating, and safety violations.
To respond to support requests.
To comply with legal obligations, including law enforcement requests relating to child safety.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or sale to any third party.

5. Chat Safety & Filtering

All messages sent through JJ's World in-game chat are automatically scanned by our safety filter before being delivered to other players. The filter is designed to detect and block or redact:

Email addresses (any text matching standard email format)
Phone numbers (any numeric pattern matching phone number formats)
Physical addresses and postal codes
Profanity, slurs, and offensive language
External website links and URLs
Attempts to arrange offline contact

Chat logs may be reviewed by our moderation team when a safety report is filed or when we detect suspicious patterns. Chat logs are stored for a limited time for this purpose and are not used for any commercial purpose.

6. How We Store Data

All user data is stored on JJ's World servers hosted through Hostinger. Each user's data is stored in a dedicated, isolated account folder. Data is not commingled between accounts.

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes — the original password is never stored and cannot be recovered by us.
Server logs (IP, timestamps) are stored separately from account data and are used only for security purposes.
Data is stored in Canada or on servers accessible from Canada. If data is stored or routed through servers in other countries, we ensure those servers meet appropriate security standards.

7. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third party for commercial purposes. Period.

Limited Exceptions

PayPal: When you make a purchase, your payment is processed by PayPal. PayPal receives only the transaction details necessary to process payment. We receive only a transaction ID. PayPal's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.
Law Enforcement: We will disclose account information to law enforcement authorities without notice if we are legally required to do so, or if we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm — particularly any harm to a child.
Child Safety Authorities: If we detect activity that suggests a child is being exploited, groomed, or endangered, we will report it to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P at cybertip.ca), the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), or other appropriate authorities without delay.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA & PIPEDA)

Special Protections for Children Under 13

JJ's World is designed to be safe for children. We apply extra protections for users who are or may be under 13, in compliance with COPPA (United States) and PIPEDA (Canada).

What This Means in Practice

We do not require, request, or collect real names or email addresses during signup — only a username is needed.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information from children under 13 beyond what is described in Section 2.
We do not share children's data with third parties for any commercial purpose.
We do not allow children's information to be made public within the platform.
Our chat filter is specifically designed to prevent children from sharing personal information.

Parental Rights (COPPA)

If your child is under 13 and located in the United States, you have the right to:

Review the personal information we have collected about your child.
Request deletion of your child's account and all associated data.
Refuse to allow further collection or use of your child's information.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@jjsworld.ca with subject line "COPPA Parental Request." We will respond within 5 business days.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about your account.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format (where technically feasible).
Objection: Object to processing in circumstances permitted by law.

To make any of these requests, contact support@jjsworld.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

Active account data is retained as long as the account remains active.
Accounts inactive for 12 consecutive months may be deleted along with all associated data.
You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing support@jjsworld.ca. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. All JJ Coins are forfeited upon deletion.
Server logs (IP, timestamps) are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes, then deleted.
Support email records are retained for up to 2 years for legal and compliance purposes.

11. Security

Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing — they cannot be retrieved by anyone, including our team.
Sessions are managed server-side and expire automatically after inactivity.
User data folders are isolated per account and not publicly accessible.
We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers — payments are handled entirely by PayPal.

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@jjsworld.ca immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and post a notice on the platform. Continued use of JJ's World after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
